I'm Ananya — a therapist grounded in the principles of Transactional Analysis, somatic awareness, and trauma-informed care. I work with the belief that healing happens in relationship, not in isolation.

My work is relational, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your own inner knowing. Whether you come with a clear question or just a feeling you can't name yet — there is room for all of it here.

I am currently completing a 5-year TA certification programme, and will be expanding into group TA work and clinical supervision for fellow therapists in the years ahead.

On grief & connection
The Grief of Being Misunderstood
Sometimes the deepest loneliness is not being alone, but feeling unseen by people who believe they already know you.

The grief is often not just about the current moment. It is about all the failed attempts to explain ourself, not being believed, being reduced to one mistake, being labeled instead of being understood.

Part of healing is learning that being misunderstood does not make our experiences untrue.

A common phrase. An uncommon skill. What does it really mean to sit with your emotions?

We all have experienced them — sometimes as aches or as warm fuzzies. It's easy to wonder why they show up. Let's explore them with curiosity.

On healing
What Healing Can Look Like
Trusting our own reality. Reducing the urge to over-explain. Finding relationships rooted in curiosity instead of assumptions.

Grieving unmet needs. Accepting that some people may never fully see us — and choosing ourselves anyway.

One painful realisation in adulthood is: understanding cannot be forced.

Approach

Therapy rooted in understanding

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a rich, accessible framework developed by Eric Berne. It helps us understand how we relate to ourselves and others — through the lens of ego states, life scripts, and the transactions we play out, often without realising it.

My approach is integrative — TA forms the backbone, but I draw on somatic and body-aware practices depending on what is most useful for you in the moment.

Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is the medicine. Showing up with warmth, curiosity, and honesty is at the heart of how I work.
